(OOM).05_LOW STOOL
"Closer to the Ground"
"OOM" (Ôm) means an indirect hug. In the low stool, that embrace happens at the height half the world grew up on: close to the floor, close to the work, close to each other. It holds you where life actually happens: the shared meal, the quiet task, the conversation that only opens up when everyone is seated low.
The legs are laminated veneer: thin, bent, and locked. Strong enough to hold a full-grown adult, alive enough to sway gently as you settle, a quiet give, steadier than its taller sibling, but never quite still.
Inspired by the Asian low stool: the street café, the kitchen, the doorway. OOM.05 embodies a thousand years of floor life in a single, clean curve. It's a seat you pull close, sit low on, and keep. Also a perfect gift.
